Using DVD Flick 1. Click on the DVD Flick icon on the Desktop. The project space will appear. Figure 1 Figure 2 2. Select "Add Title" to select a video to be burned (See Figure 3). A dialogue box will appear on the screen (See Figure 4). Highlight the video from the location where it is being stored. Click on the "Open" button. The video will show up in the project space (See Figure 5). Figure 3 Figure 4 Figure 5 3. Click on "Edit title" title button in the right panel (See Figure 6). This will bring up the control panel for the software. The first menu in the left column is labeled "General" (See Figure 7). The title can be changed in the Name textbox. The title that in the textbox will be displayed if a menu is created. If the video is going to be displayed on a standard television, 4:3 will be fine. If the video is going to be shown on a large format screen (ex. LCD or Plasma). To change the size of the screen output, click on the Target Aspect Ratio pull down menu. Select wide screen (16:9) to change the screen size. Figure 6 Figure 7 4. Click on "Chapters" in the left column. Chapters can be created in three different ways. The default method is by the video source. Each title that is added to the project will automatically become a new chapter on the dvd. The first checkbox separates chapters by the time counter of the dvd. For example, a new chapter could be set for every 10 minutes. The second checkbox splits the video equally into whatever is set in the pull down box. Figure 8 5. To remove a title from the listing, highlight the item to be remove. Select the "Remove Title" button from the right column (See Figure 9). A new dialogue box will appear (See Figure 10). It will ask to confirm that this file is to be removed from the list. The first selection is in the left column is General (See Figure 12). The project title can be changed in the first textbox. The next pulldown menu is target size (See Figure 13). The target size sets the size that the media will be burned to. For example, cds can hold 700 megabytes and dvds can hold 4.3 to 4.7 gigabytes. Select the type of media. Skip down to "Burning" (See Figure 14). Click on "Burn Project to Disc" checkbox (See Figure 15). Click the "Accept" button to use the changes (See Figure 16). This box controls the menu that is displayed when the dvd is inserted into a player. There are six backdrops to choose from in the left column. Click on one of the menu options. The screen to the right of the left column will display what the selection will look like (See Figure 19). To preview what the menu screen will look like in a larger format, click on the "Preview" button (See Figure 20). A preview pane will appear.
